As many of you know, GhoDho came out with a new line of their breeches. To be honest, I liked the old ones better. I purchased the military green pair, which don’t seem to be available on the website anymore, and I own a pair of their older breeches in Luna. The new ones have some significant upgrades, like bigger pockets and belt loops, but they aren’t as durable in my experience.
First, let’s go with material. The new ones have a different material that is “rougher” than the old ones, but still as stretchy.
Second, they have bigger belt loops to accommodate Tailored Sportsman belts and other bigger belts.
Third, they have bigger pockets which is great for holding bigger items like cell phone or other things.
They are still as stretchy, and GhoDho still recommends sizing up from your regular size. However, I seem to match sizes in GhoDhos and other breech brands for some reason, so it’s up to your body type.
Here was my problem. GhoDho specifically upgraded the fabric to be more durable. However, my old breeches were more durable than my new ones. I rode in the new ones twice, and they were already wearing and pilling on the inner thigh – not something I’d expect from a fabric specifically used to create a more durable breech.
However, I have to say that their customer service was wonderful. I reached out to them after this, and they were prompt in their response. They even sent me a shipping label for a free return to make it right. I have to commend them on their prompt customer service and the way they handled the situation. Some companies would not have done this or maybe have not even responded.
So, overall, I would give them a 7 out of 10 for features (there are some cool colors) and some signifiant, useful upgrades. For durability, I would give them a 1/10 because they only lasted two rides. I would hate to see what happened if I continued riding in them. Perhaps it was the specific item I received – that does happen. And with their great customer service, I am willing to give them the benefit of the doubt. But, if you are looking for a durable breech – beware!
