Jessica S.
Owner/Founder

Jessica began riding at the age of 7 after her grandparents noticed her infatuation with horses and promised to purchase a package of riding lessons for her to take at a local public riding stable. After one lesson, on a little pinto pony named Chocolate Chip, she was hooked. Currently, Jessica has a soon-to-be 26 year old pony, Tempo – her first pony, and a 9 year old Hanoverian, Monte, that does the adult equitation, adult hunters, and some professional divisions as well as derbies. Jessica is hoping to soon invest in another young hunter of Performance Hunter and International Derby caliber. Jessica currently rides in the hunters and equitation, though she one day hopes to break into the jumpers and has the lofty goal of competing at the Grand Prix level despite her late start to competing. Her biggest dream is to become a professional and one day partner with her trainer in the horse business.
Aside from running this blog, Jessica is an attorney. She mainly focuses on transactional law, such as contracts. She has a large equine practice and also engages in dispute resolution, recovery of money owed (her biggest recovery to date has been $17k), drafts important documents for businesses, incorporates business, advises entrepreneurs, and more. She also has a freelance writing business and assists others in marketing their businesses.
When not riding or working, Jessica enjoys spending time with her dapple dachshund, Jack, binge watching Law & Order: SVU and Blue Bloods, continuously re-watching Gossip Girl, spending time with her family and friends, personal development (she is very spiritual and loves authors like Gabrielle Bernstein and Danielle LaPorte), journaling, buying tons of makeup and clothes, listening to all types of music, especially electric dance music (EDM), and summertime. She loves the beach, Leininkuegel Summer Shandy, and she has an unhealthy obsession with the show Archer. Jessica is also very active in political and current affairs and is an avid supporter of LGBTQIA+ and women’s rights.
